These 3 Lightroom presets are designed to give you an easy way to add realistic-looking grain to your digital photos so you can have fun with your film simulation without switching to Photoshop or other software.
The All in one grain Lightroom preset comes in 3 flavors: 400, 800, and 1600 named after the iso values of film so you will have a rough idea of what to expect even before clicking on them. No matter if you want a subtle grain or one where the particles are clearly visible there is an option that will help you achieve the look you are looking for. They do this by applying 3 targeted masks to your image with specific grain values based on luminosity. The presets are also designed to add a bit of bloom to the highlights and generally take the edge off the digital sharpness our modern camera usually produces.
"The fact that images are composed of grain means that the grain should be the smallest detail in the image. So all those megapixels you paid a lot of money for are kind of working against you right now. The bigger the ISO of the film you want to emulate the bigger the crystals would be. Big crystals mean a lower level of detail. "

What to expect from the preset:
- 3 luminosity-based masks that add various amounts of grain
- slight sharpness reduction based on the size of the grain particles for a more realistic-looking grain
- a very subtle lift in the black point of the entire image to give the image a more natural look
How to adjust the intensity of the effect:
The preset is created as a one click solution, but if you want to adjust the strength, you can always do it with the Size and Roughness in the effects pannel of Lightroom/ ACR. Keep in mind this will not affect the reduction in sharpness so if you started with 1600 and realize you want finer grain it's better to switch to 400/800 versions of the preset to keep the look consistent
